In a ground-breaking technology move for the automotive industry, Volvo Cars demonstrates the world's first delivery of food to the car -- a new form of "roam delivery" services. The service will allow consumers to have their online shopping delivered straight to their car, even if they're not present themselves.

Through a new digital key technology, car owners will be able to set their car as a delivery option when shopping online, be notified of upcoming deliveries, and track when the car is opened and locked again by the verified delivery company -- all with their smartphone or tablet. Once the pick-up or drop-off is completed, the digital key ceases to exist.

Turning the car into a pick-up and drop-off zone is another example where Volvo Cars explores the potential of connected cars to create solutions which will simplify the customers' everyday lives.
